From the edge of the pit located next to the town of Kleczew you can admire the vast expanse of the still operated mine in the region of Konin. You should pay a particular attention to the huge excavators, stackers and conveyors, without which no man could handle the extraction of this very precious material.

First open pits in Konin’s region started the process of operation during World Warr II and they were located in the City of Konin. Currently, there are four open pits in the municipalities of the Konin district – Kleczew and Wierzbinek.
